READ MOREIn the field of industrial thermal management, thermocouple wire is the essential core for high-accuracy temperature monitoring. Single-core thermocouple wires are primarily used to connect the sensing point to display or control instruments, transmitting microvolt-level voltage signals through the Seebeck Effect generated by specific metal alloys. Jiangsu Silver & Tin Thread Hi-temperature Wire and Cables Co., Ltd. produces single-core thermocouple extension and compensating wires designed for industries with stringent temperature control requirements, such as aerospace, metallurgy, and chemical processing.
For thermal engineers, the purity of the alloy and the consistency of the Electromotive Force (EMF) determine the measurement error of the entire system. Our "Yuanzhi" brand thermocouple wires utilize strictly proportioned alloy conductors protected by high-performance Fluoroplastic (Teflon) or Silicone insulation, ensuring signal transmission remains stable and drift-free in extreme environments ranging from -60°C to +260°C.
Thermocouple wires are defined by their "Type" designations, each corresponding to specific alloy combinations and temperature ranges:
| Type | Positive Alloy | Negative Alloy | Application Characteristics |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type K | Chromel (Ni-Cr) | Alumel (Ni-Si) | Versatile, high oxidation resistance |
| Type J | Iron (Fe) | Constantan (Cu-Ni) | Excellent in reducing atmospheres |
| Type T | Copper (Cu) | Constantan (Cu-Ni) | The preferred choice for cryogenic use |
| Type E | Chromel (Ni-Cr) | Constantan (Cu-Ni) | Highest sensitivity (Highest EMF output) |
At Jiangsu Silver & Tin Thread, we ensure every meter of single-core thermocouple wire serves as a precise "industrial ruler."
Thermocouples measure infinitesimal voltage changes. We employ high-purity alloy smelting technology and strictly control trace impurities. This ensures our EMF output adheres to international standards (such as IEC 584 or ANSI MC 96.1), minimizing measurement errors caused by material fluctuations.
In corrosive chemical plants or near high-temperature furnaces, standard wires age rapidly. Our thermocouple wires feature PFA/FEP (Teflon) jackets, which offer outstanding dielectric properties and resistance to strong acids, alkalis, and chemical solvents, ensuring sensor longevity in harsh conditions.
Our "Yuanzhi" brand thermocouple wires are trusted in critical temperature measurement systems globally:
Jiangsu Silver & Tin Thread Hi-temperature Wire and Cables Co., Ltd. was founded in 1994. For over 30 years, we have focused on the independent R&D of specialty high-temperature cables. Our IATF 16949 and ISO9001 certifications reflect our world-class standards in manufacturing and quality control.
Our products carry global certifications including UL, CE, CCC, and RoHS. Every batch is calibrated for resistance and thermocouple characteristics before shipment. Furthermore, our entire range is globally insured by the People's Insurance Company of China (PICC), providing comprehensive assurance for your measurement systems.
Extension wire (usually designated with an 'X') uses the exact same alloy as the thermocouple, offering high precision but at a higher cost. Compensating wire (designated with a 'C') uses cheaper metals with similar thermoelectric properties for signal transmission at lower temperature ranges, offering a more cost-effective solution.
Solid cores provide lower contact resistance and better signal consistency. They are also less prone to signal attenuation over long distances and offer superior mechanical stability during fixed installations.
Because the voltage signal is so weak, it is highly susceptible to EMI. In high-noise environments, we recommend thermocouple wires with a metal braid shield to isolate external noise and ensure reliable readings.
